Welcome to Year 5
5RM is taught by Mrs Russell and Mrs Marshall and 5VD by Mrs Dawson. Maple class are taught by Miss Adams.
Our teaching assistants are Mrs Gardner, Mrs Boyce, Miss Cox, Mr Ballinger and Mrs Bray.
Miss Yeomans covers PPA in 5VD and Mrs Keyte in Maple.
We are looking forward to an exciting year with lots of learning and great progress being made by all the children.

Homework Expectations
Maths
Children should practise their time tables frequently at home. They can use Times Table Rockstars to do this. Logins are in the front of the Reading Record books.
Spellings
Spellings are given out on Mondays are tested the following Friday using dictation where some of the words are included and pucntuation points used. Children will bring home a spelling book with new spellings.
Reading
Children are provided with Reading Records and are expected to read 5 times per week for around 20 minutes a time. This will help them to develop their vocabulary and understanding of how to write and communicate well. It will also help them to develop strong comprehension and understanding, while hopefully developing a love of English. Reading records should be handed in every day so that we can monitor children’s reading at home.
PE Sessions
PE days for the Autumn term -
5RM - Indoor PE Tuesday. Outdoor PE Thursday.
5VD - Indoor PE Thursday. Outdoor PE Tuesday.
Maple - Indoor PE Tuesday. Outdoor PE Thursday.
The children will also take part in running the Dialy Mile two days per week when the classes do not have PE.
